Douglas Fir Cabinetry is a rarity. We use only quartersawn (an indepth milling process that ensures only the tight grain pattern shows….you can count the tree’s rings in each board), or barnwood Douglas Fir. It is by far the hardest tree in the our area, and because of that, was widely cut for use in the mines and homes of the early settlers to this country. This wood takes a significant lead time, but the results are well worth it.
The most beautiful thing about the douglas fir tree, is that once it is exposed to sunlight, it gets deeper, redder, orange-r….it looks like the sun itself.
